Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust plan of care within the multidisciplinary team.
- Provide explanations and instructions to patients and responsible persons about respiratory disease processes, interventions, and discharge planning; verify understanding.
- Accept reassignment to other units when necessary to support patient care.
- Share clinical knowledge with staff and students; model best practices in respiratory care.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory care; communicate with medical and nursing staff regarding patient status and goals.
- Deliver respiratory therapies as ordered by the physician, coordinating with the care team to optimize patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy (required)
- Active Illinois license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- BLS and NRP-MHC certifications
- Ability to work nights in a hospital setting
- Eligible for travel assignment and able to meet onboarding requirements
