Travel Registered Nurse ICU Job

Los Angeles, CA
Contracted
Adventist Health White Memorial
Mid Level
Step into a high-impact ICU nursing opportunity in the heart of California, where your expertise meets a living landscape that inspires resilience, compassion, and clinical excellence. As an ICU Registered Nurse, you will join a dedicated team that thrives on rapid assessment, decisive action, and patient advocacy at the highest level of care. Beginning on 04/06/2026 for a flexible multi-week assignment, you’ll shape your schedule around your professional goals while delivering critical care that can change outcomes. This role is tailored for seasoned ICU clinicians who savor fast-paced environments, complex cases, and collaborative problem-solving. In Los Angeles and the broader Southern California region, you’ll experience a vibrant healthcare ecosystem—world-class academic centers, renowned medical teams, and the opportunity to influence care pathways in ways that elevate your practice. And if you yearn to expand your horizons, you’ll have the chance to extend your time in different settings across the United States, building a versatile portfolio that reflects your adaptability and commitment to patient-centered care. Beyond the bedside, California’s beauty awaits—sun-drenched beaches, dramatic coastlines, alpine escapes, and a culture-rich tapestry of arts and cuisine—to recharge you between shifts and remind you why you chose this profession.

Location benefits matter, and this opportunity captures the best of both worlds. In Southern California, you’ll contribute to care in bustling academic medical centers and high-acuity community hospitals where critical care teams collaborate across disciplines. The experience in Los Angeles exposes you to a diverse patient population and a breadth of pathologies that sharpen diagnostic acumen and deepen leadership capabilities. The role also opens the door to working in various locations across the U.S., offering you the flexibility to explore new hospital cultures, trauma centers, and specialty units. Whether you prefer the energy of a metropolitan ICU or the operational variety found in other regions, you’ll gain exposure to different care models, staffing structures, and ICU protocols that broaden your clinical repertoire. And for those who value work-life balance, California’s outdoor opportunities—from coastal drives along the Pacific to weekend hikes in nearby national parks—provide abundant chances to unwind and return to the unit refreshed and ready to excel.

In this ICU RN position, you’ll perform comprehensive critical care duties with a focus on patient stabilization, advanced monitoring, and multidisciplinary teamwork. Core responsibilities include continuously assessing hemodynamic status, managing ventilator settings and weaning protocols, titrating vasopressors and inotropes in line with evolving patient conditions, interpreting arterial blood gases and lab trends, and leading or participating in rapid response and code events with calm decisiveness. You’ll oversee complex patient care plans, coordinate with intensivists, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and rehabilitation specialists, and ensure meticulous documentation of interventions, responses, and patient family communications. You’ll participate in rounding, family updates, and discharge planning, ensuring a seamless transition from ICU to step-down or home with appropriate education and follow-up. The role also invites you to contribute to quality improvement efforts, clinical protocol development, and process optimization to elevate patient outcomes across the unit. This is a hands-on opportunity to deepen expertise in critical care, expand your scope of practice, and mentor newer staff as you demonstrate advanced clinical judgment and leadership.

As for benefits, we recognize the value you bring and aim to support your total well-being. The position offers competitive weekly pay, ranging from $1,900 to $1,975, with the opportunity for a welcome or performance-based bonus designed to acknowledge your commitment and results. Housing assistance is available to ease relocation or temporary housing needs, and extension opportunities allow for ongoing assignments if you wish to prolong your experience in the ICU and maintain continuity of care for the patients you serve. We understand that travel nursing comes with logistical and personal considerations, so we emphasize a comprehensive support network: 24/7 assistance while traveling with the company, streamlined credentialing and onboarding processes, dedicated travel coordinators, and on-site unit support to help you settle into the new environment quickly. This combination of financial stability, practical support, and professional development makes it possible to focus on delivering exceptional patient care without the typical stressors that can accompany assignments.

Our approach centers on empowering staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and creating clear pathways for career advancement. You’ll be part of a company that values your expertise and respects your autonomy, while offering mentorship, leadership development opportunities, and a collaborative, resource-rich environment. We encourage ongoing skill enhancement—whether pursuing advanced certifications in critical care, neurocritical care, or advanced hemodynamic monitoring—so you can continue to grow within the ICU specialty and position yourself for future leadership roles. You will find a workplace that respects your contributions, supports your professional development, and celebrates the impact you make on patients and families every day.
