Responsibilities
- Provide direct perioperative nursing care in the OR for diverse surgical cases, including pre-op, intraoperative, and post-op phases.
- Serve as circulating and/or scrub nurse, maintaining sterile technique, handling instruments, and ensuring correct implants and equipment for each case.
- Support anesthesia team and surgeons, monitor patient status, and advocate for patient safety throughout procedures.
- Assist with patient positioning, equipment setup, room turnover, and immediate post-anesthesia care as needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care, especially for complex cases such as DaVinci robotic procedures, large head and neck cases, neuro spine, and exploratory laparotomy.
- Adapt to intraoperative changes, document procedures accurately, and maintain OR compliance with policies and safety standards.

Requirements
- Active Kansas RN license and AHA BLS certification
- 2+ years of OR experience with level 1 trauma experience
- Strong scrub and instrument handling skills; familiarity with DaVinci robot cases, large head and neck cases, neuro spine, and ex laparotomy procedures
- Willingness to float to all ORs as needed; on-call up to 6 shifts per 13-week contract
- Holidays may be required if scheduled days fall on holidays; weekends are set per schedule
- Nicotine-free facility policy; successful completion of onboarding orientation
- Orientation schedule: new employee orientation Mon-Tues, nursing orientation Wed-Fri; credentialing due one week prior to start
