Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside care for adult medical-surgical and neuro-focused patients, with emphasis on neuro assessment and monitoring.
- Perform NIHSS assessments and document findings in the patient record; respond to changes in neurological status per protocol.
- Administer medications, manage intravenous therapy, and implement orders while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Document care delivery and outcomes in the EPIC electronic medical record; communicate changes to the care team.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other care professionals; participate in planning, rounding, and discharge planning as appropriate.
- Educate patients and families on procedures, treatments, and post-discharge care; advocate for patient needs and safety.
Requirements
- Active registered nursing license in Georgia (RN).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in neuro-focused medical-surgical or related specialty.
- NIHSS documentation or demonstrated competency to be included in the CV packet; NIHSS in CV packet is required to be considered.
- ACLS certification (BLS required).
- EPIC experience (EPIC charting experience required).
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts (3 days per week); no block scheduling and weekends not required.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program (RN); current licensure to practice as an RN.
