Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to neuro-focused medical/surgical patients on the PCU, with emphasis on neuro status monitoring and NIHSS assessments
- Administer medications and IV therapies, monitor vital signs, and respond to clinical changes
- Collaborate with physicians, neuro/step-down teams, and multidisciplinary staff to implement and adjust care plans
- Document accurately in the EPIC electronic medical record and perform effective handoffs and daily charting
- Maintain readiness for ACLS responses and uphold patient safety standards during shifts
Requirements
- Active RN license in Georgia
- Neuro nursing experience required; minimum 2 years in specialty (PCU/Neuro/step-down) or closely related areas
- NIHSS documented in CV packet or demonstrated NIHSS competency
- ACLS certification
- EPIC EMR experience or demonstrated proficiency
- Ability to work in a hospital setting with day shift, 12-hour rotations, and a travel assignment
