Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to an assigned group of oncology patients following the nursing process and established standards of care
- Administer medications, therapies, and treatments as prescribed; monitor for efficacy and adverse effects
- Assess patient conditions, document findings, and update care plans to reflect changes in status
- Coordinate care with physicians, pharmacists, social work, and other disciplines to ensure safe, timely interventions
- Supervise and direct activities of licensed and unlicensed nursing staff during the shift, promoting a collaborative team approach
- Uphold patient safety, infection control, and quality standards; advocate for patient and family education and engagement
- Utilize critical thinking and clinical judgment to prioritize care, triage urgent needs, and adapt plans as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license (state unspecified) with ability to practice as a registered nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Oncology experience or demonstrated ability to provide competent oncology nursing care
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts and participate in a travel assignment
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (RN degree: diploma, ADN, or BSN)
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills; ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary care team
