Responsibilities
- Provide skilled occupational therapy support under the supervision of the supervising OT, delivering rehabilitation services to residents.
- Implement treatment plans, therapy modalities, activities, and interventions to improve or maintain functional independence in activities of daily living.
- Monitor progress, document outcomes, and communicate changes in patient status to the OT and care team; maintain accurate records in the chart or EMR.
- Assist with patient transfers, positioning, ambulation, and use of assistive devices and equipment, while following safety protocols.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, participate in care planning discussions, and contribute to goal setting for residents.
Requirements
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential
- Ability to work in a skilled nursing facility setting
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Availability to commit to a 13-week travel assignment with guaranteed 35 hours per week
- Knowledge of basic OT modalities and ability to support treatment plans within a team setting
