Responsibilities
- Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients in the PCU/IMCU with cardiac diagnoses, including telemetry monitoring and frequent clinical assessment.
- Administer and monitor cardiac medications and drips as ordered (Milrinone, Dobutamine, vasopressors) and adjust plans in collaboration with the treating cardiology team.
- Monitor hemodynamics, rhythms, and patient responses; recognize and respond to acute changes in condition; participate in timely escalation and handoffs.
- Support STEMI/NSTEMI pathways, post-procedure care, and cardiology-related protocols; ensure safe transitions between acuity levels, including potential assignment to telemetry beds with lower acuity as needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in rounds, update the care plan, and document assessments, interventions, and patient education in the electronic record.
- Adhere to BLS/ACLS standards, infection prevention, and hospital policies; ensure patient safety and quality of care through accurate documentation and appropriate communication.

Requirements
- Documented PCU experience with a minimum of 2 years in a facility of similar size (28-bed PCU/IMCU with cardiac population).
- Experience managing cardiology patients, including STEMI/NSTEMI, CTS, and C/P, with familiarity using cardiac drips (Milrinone, Dobutamine, vasopressors).
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Ability to work the night shift in a hospital setting; strong communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills.
- Willingness to work in a high-acuity, telemetry-enabled PCU/IMCU environment and to float to telemetry beds in the same unit as needed.
