Travel Registered Nurse ICU Job
Registered Nurse – ICU | Sonora, California | Start 04/20/2026 | 13 weeks | $1,709–$1,849 per week | Guaranteed hours: 0 | Shift: 3x12-hour nights | Setting: Short-term acute care hospital with a 12-bed unit combining ICU and step-down care.

- Staffing and clinical scope: ICU ratio 1:2; SDU ratio 1:3; occasional 1:1 in ICU depending on acuity
- Call/orientation: Call may be required if shift begins overstaffed; orientation includes virtual AH orientation, in-department orientation, and two clinical orientation shifts
- Typical patient mix: Respiratory failure, DKA, post-cardiac cath STEMI, Sepsis, alcohol withdrawal; SDU patients include Afib RVR with diltiazem or amiodarone drips, BIPAP, and various ICU-compatible conditions
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for critically ill adults in ICU and SDU, with monitoring of hemodynamics, ventilators, and organ support
- Titrate IV drips and medications (vasopressors, propofol, fentanyl) and manage moderate sedation as required
- Monitor for deterioration, respond to alarms, perform timely assessments, and escalate to physicians as needed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, implement care plans, and document accurately
- Float to SDU regularly and, when census allows, to Med-Surg or ED duties while maintaining patient safety and quality of care
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- ICU/SDU nursing experience or demonstrated critical care competency
- Ability to titrate and manage IV drips including vasopressors, propofol, fentanyl
- Willingness to float to SDU, Med-Surg, or ED as needed
- Availability to work 3x12-hour night shifts and complete required orientation (one day virtual AH orientation, one day Education department orientation, and two clinical orientation shifts)
