Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for adult medical-surgical patients on a 10-bed unit with a 5:1 patient-to-RN ratio; manage admissions and transfers as needed
- Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor vital signs, administer prescribed medications and therapies, and respond to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and other health professionals to plan and execute care plans, including discharge planning
- Document accurately in the electronic health record; ensure patient safety, infection control, pain management, and privacy
- Support rapid patient turnover and independent work while maintaining clear, timely communication with the care team
- Provide patient and family education and prepare for safe discharge, including medication reconciliation and follow-up instructions
Requirements
- Active RN license appropriate for practice in Georgia
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical RN experience
- Ability to work Day shift on a 12-hour schedule (12x3) and handle a high-admission workload
- Proficiency with electronic health records and the ability to load essential profile data, including badge-appropriate photo
- Must be willing to work mandatory holiday coverage: Thanksgiving Day or the day after; Christmas Eve and Christmas Day OR New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day
- Resume submission with minimal gaps (no gaps greater than 60 days), along with Skills Checklist, References, Certification Card, and Nursys License Verification
