Responsibilities
- Deliver stepdown-level care for postoperative patients transferred from PACU/SICU, including cardiothoracic, vascular, neurosurgery, trauma, and transplant residents
- Monitor telemetry, interpret rhythm strips, and respond to arrhythmias per unit protocol
- Administer medications, including use of automated dispensing systems, and document accurately
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to implement and adjust care plans; ensure smooth handoffs with colleagues
- Maintain patient safety, infection control, and comfort, while managing a unit with approximately 38 beds and typical ratios around 1:3 to 1:4-5
Requirements
- 2+ years of recent acute care experience
- Surgical stepdown experience at a Level 1 trauma center; IMCU/Stepdown experience required
- Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
- ACLS certification
- Auto med dispensing experience
- More than one prior travel assignment
