Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to adolescent patients in inpatient behavioral health units per established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff across shifts; collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other disciplines.
- Collect and analyze patient data, identify care needs, and develop and implement individualized care plans; reassess progress regularly.
- Monitor patient status, administer medications per policy, respond to changes, and manage crisis situations within approved guidelines.
- Participate in discharge planning, provide patient and family education, and ensure safe, therapeutic, and supportive environments.
- Delegate duties appropriately, promote patient safety, and work closely with mental health technicians and the broader treatment team.
- Maintain documentation accuracy and participate in ongoing care coordination across behavioral health units.
Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice (California) or as required by assignment
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) required; CPI/TEAM or TEAM-A required; ACLS or ARC-ALS required; PALS or ARC-PALS required; CPR or equivalent per policy
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in a relevant field; behavioral health inpatient experience preferred
- Ability to work in a behavioral health inpatient setting and participate in on-call duties if required
- Must be eligible to work in the United States; current state-specific nursing licensure
- Night shift readiness and ability to work across two adolescent behavioral health units as needed
