Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job
Registered Nurse, PCU – Olathe, KS, travel assignment starting 07/19/2026 for 14 weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $2,008 to $2,111. Guaranteed hours: none. Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts. Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital, inpatient care with a focus on progressive patient needs.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for adult PCU patients, including monitoring vitals, administering medications, and assessing patient status.
- Manage specialized equipment and therapies as needed, including BiPAP support, chest tubes, and PICC lines; perform own labs when required.
- Document thoroughly in the EPIC electronic medical record and communicate changes in patient condition to the care team.
- Float to ICU and all inpatient units as needed (Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and ED) with prior experience; call on own consults and conduct own codes when appropriate.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other disciplines to develop and adjust care plans; provide patient and family education.
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend; no on-call obligations; adapt to unit needs per schedule.
- Open-heart Day 2 or Day 3 experience with pacer wires is preferred but not required.
Requirements
- Current RN license in Kansas or Compact RN license; BLS, ACLS, and NIHF certifications.
- 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department experience.
- Education: Registered Nurse (RN) credential required.
- Ability to float to ICU and multiple inpatient units as needed.
- Strong critical thinking skills; comfortable working independently and calling own consults.
