Responsibilities
- Provide direct professional nursing care to ED patients, across age groups as assigned
- Perform nursing assessments, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate patient responses
- Triage patients, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with physicians and the ED team to coordinate care
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and manage patient safety and comfort
- Facilitate discharge planning and patient/family education, incorporating teaching needs into the plan of care
- Delegate appropriate tasks to other nursing staff based on current competencies and legal scope of practice
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and quality standards
Requirements
- Current California RN license or eligibility for licensure
- Ability to work nights in a fast-paced ED/trauma environment
- Experience in emergency department or high-acuity acute care settings preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with a multidisciplinary ED team
- Demonstrated clinical judgment and nursing accountability in emergency care
