Overview
As a Physical Therapist in a general acute care setting, you will plan and conduct segments of treatment programs to restore and improve physical function while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. This travel assignment is in a short-term acute care hospital in San Luis Obispo, CA, with a 40-hour guaranteed week, 13 weeks in duration, and a 3:00 PM–11:00 PM shift schedule. You will provide evaluations, develop individualized care plans, and implement therapy protocols, coordinating discharge planning and ensuring accurate documentation.

Responsibilities
- Conduct patient evaluations and establish individualized physical therapy plans.
- Deliver therapy interventions using appropriate techniques and evidence-based protocols.
- Monitor progress, adjust treatment plans, and communicate changes to the care team.
- Document assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge planning within established timelines.
- Supervise assigned therapy assistants and coordinate with other disciplines to meet patient goals.
Requirements
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree; foreign equivalents accepted if licensure occurred after January 2016
- Physical Therapy licensure in the state of practice (California)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- At least 2 years of physical therapy experience preferred
- Ability to work in an acute care hospital setting and meet department standards
