Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adults on neuro and medical-surgical units, including neurological assessments and NIHSS documentation
- Administer medications, manage IV therapy, monitor vital signs, and respond to clinical changes per physician orders and stroke protocols
- Document in the EPIC electronic medical record; ensure accurate charting and NIHSS documentation is included in the CV packet
- Collaborate with physicians, neurologists, therapists, and case management to implement care plans and coordinate transitions of care
- Monitor safety and comfort, manage wounds and therapies, and participate in discharge planning and patient/family education
Requirements
- Current RN license in Georgia with Nursys license verification
- Minimum 2 years of neuro/medical-surgical experience
- NIHSS certification documented in CV packet
- ACLS certification
- EPIC EMR experience
- Ability to work day shifts on a 12-hour, three-days-per-week schedule; no block scheduling; weekends not required
