Responsibilities
- Provide bedside care for neuro/PCU patients, with emphasis on neuro status monitoring and NIHSS assessments
- Perform ongoing neuro evaluations, recognize changes, and escalate per protocol
- Administer medications, manage IV therapy, telemetry monitoring, and basic patient treatments within scope
- Collaborate with physicians, bedside RNs, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and discharge planning
- Document care accurately in the Epic EMR and maintain up-to-date patient records
- Maintain safety and infection control standards; provide patient and family education; assist with mobility and activities of daily living as needed
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia
- NIHSS documentation must be included in CV packet
- Neuro experience required; additional step-down experience preferred; minimum 2 years in the specialty
- ACLS certification required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Education/ profile requirements: RN in good standing; credentials and onboarding materials including profile with work history (no gaps >60 days), skills checklist, references, certification card, and Nursys license verification
- Availability for 12-hour day shifts on a 3-day-per-week schedule (around 7:00 AM); no block scheduling; weekends not required
