Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in Neuro ICU/IMCU, with care plans aligned to neuro-focused needs.
- Perform frequent neuro assessments, monitor neurological status, and respond promptly to changes.
- Administer medications and therapies per physician orders; support ventilator and other critical care interventions as indicated.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust care plans; document patient progress in the electronic medical record; coordinate discharge planning as appropriate.
- Float between ICU and IMCU units as needed, maintaining patient safety and adhering to unit ratios (ICU 1–2, stepdown 3–4).
Requirements
- Active Georgia RN license (or eligibility) with Nursys license verification.
- Minimum 2 years of recent Neuro ICU/IMCU or neuro-focused critical care nursing experience.
- Strong neuro assessment and critical care nursing skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to float between ICU and IMCU and adapt to unit-specific ratios and workflows.
- Resume with no gaps greater than 60 days; skills checklist; professional references; certification card.
- Education from an accredited RN program (diploma/associate/bachelor’s degree as applicable).
