Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care for an assigned group of Med Surg patients in accordance with established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and adjust care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Administer medications, monitor responses, and intervene for adverse events following policy and protocol.
- Supervise and direct activities of licensed and unlicensed nursing staff, delegating tasks based on acuity and skill level.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, communicate with patients and families, and document care accurately.
- Apply critical thinking and independent judgment to support safe, effective patient care and smooth patient transitions.
Requirements
- Current, valid RN license to practice in Oregon (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
- BLS certification required.
- Med Surg nursing experience preferred; strong clinical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work nights and 12-hour shifts; ability to cover a 36-hour work week on this schedule.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and critical-thinking skills.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (RN degree).
