Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room and instruments; maintain sterile field throughout surgical cases; assist the surgeon and team by passing instruments and supplies; manage counts (sponges, needles, instruments) to ensure patient safety.
- Operate and troubleshoot OR equipment, including robotic systems (Da Vinci Xi) where applicable; support the surgical team with appropriate instrumentation and technique.
- Uphold aseptic technique and universal protocol (time-out) across cases; participate in decontamination, sterilization, and instrument processing as part of the perioperative workflow.
- Provide intraoperative assistance across a broad range of procedures, including general, bariatric, vascular, colorectal, orthopedic, spine/neurosurgery, urology, gynecology, thoracic, ENT, head & neck, and microvascular cases; adapt to unit needs and floating requirements.
- Document intraoperative care in the charting system (Epic preferred and hard requirement per facility policy); maintain accurate and timely records for each case.

Requirements
- New York state license required in hand to submit
- CST certification required; NBSTSA certification may be required (confirm with account manager)
- Travel experience required; return staff policy varies by assignment
- Years of experience: 3 years preferred; 1 year acceptable per account manager
- Experience with 1:1 patient ratios; previous charge experience preferred
- Shift flexibility: 11:00a–9:30p or 1:00p–11:30p; must be flexible to alternate as needed
- Floating: Ability to float to service lines as needed
