Responsibilities
- Provide direct, individualized nursing care to adult patients before and after surgical procedures in the Med-Surg service
- Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and initiate the computerized Plan of Care on admission
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and evidence-based patient outcomes
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment
- Maintain patient confidentiality, convey empathy, and communicate therapeutically with patients and families
- Perform general nursing duties across departments as needed; participate in required education for program standards
Requirements
- Current RN license in the State of Oregon
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Preferred: BSN or MSN; Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN)
- Experience: Previous Medical-Surgical nursing preferred
- CRASE training required if travel extends beyond a 6-month period
- Ability to work in a travel assignment and be floated to other departments where qualified
