Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive OT evaluations to determine functional abilities, goals, and appropriate treatment plans for residents.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy programs addressing activities of daily living, upper-extremity function, cognitive tasks, and safety.
- Deliver direct therapy, monitor progress, and adjust treatment plans as needed; document outcomes in standard charting systems.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, therapy colleagues, social work) to coordinate care, discharge planning, and safe transitions of care.
- Educate residents and families on adaptive strategies, assistive devices, energy conservation, and home safety to promote independence.
Requirements
- Current Occupational Therapist license to practice in North Carolina or eligible to obtain licensure.
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program (or equivalent).
- Ability to participate in a travel assignment in a long-term care setting and meet the guaranteed weekly hours requirement.
- Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills; proficient with standard OT documentation tools.
- Experience in acute or post-acute care settings is preferred, but not required.
