Responsibilities
- Deliver age-specific, direct patient care in the PACU using the Nursing Process within departmental and specialty standards.
- Monitor, assess, and respond to post-anesthesia patients’ physical and emergent needs; manage airway, ventilation, and oxygen therapy as indicated.
- Administer medications, monitor effects, adjust plans of care, and provide pain management and comfort measures.
- Document care accurately in patient records; coordinate with anesthesia, surgeons, and perioperative teams to ensure safe, efficient recovery.
- Lead or supervise basic tasks for other care team members; delegate appropriately while maintaining patient safety and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and policies governing health care delivery.

Requirements
- Current, active Registered Nurse license (state of licensure to be maintained throughout assignment).
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS (or ENPC) active prior to contract start date; if not active, a booked course must be completed at orientation.
- Education: graduate of an accredited nursing program leading to RN licensure (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
- Demonstrated ability to perform age-specific direct patient care in a PACU or perioperative setting.
- Ability to work a dayshift, travel assignment in a hospital setting, and meet assignment-specific requirements.
