Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret continuous cardiac telemetry; promptly recognize rhythm changes and assess patient status.
- Administer prescribed medications and IV infusions, including common cardiac drips per unit protocol; support post-procedure TR Band management as needed.
- Collaborate with cardiology and the interdisciplinary team; document assessments, treatments, and patient education in the electronic health record (EPIC).
- Perform ongoing patient assessments, adjust care plans as conditions change, and accelerate escalation when indicated to ensure patient safety.
- Prepare patients and families for procedures, respond to alarms, and ensure adherence to hospital policies, including medication administration accuracy and infection control.
Requirements
- Active Kansas RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry experience; 2–5 years preferred
- Ability to float to all acute care units as needed
- Must be able to work 12-hour night shifts; travel assignment eligibility
