Responsibilities
- Provide intraoperative first-assist support during cardiac surgeries, including chest exposure and closure.
- Independently harvest veins for CABG procedures when required.
- Assist with or scrub and circulate complex cardiac cases, which may include CABG, structural heart, minimally invasive procedures, and heart failure cases; heart transplant experience preferred.
- Support DaVinci robotic cases when applicable and participate in a range of cardiothoracic procedures.
- Maintain sterile technique, assist with instrument setup, and protect patient safety throughout the operative period.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, perfusionists, and OR staff; document intraoperative events and communicate urgent concerns promptly.
Requirements
- Active New York State RN license
- CNOR certification
- American Heart Association BLS Certification
- American Heart Association ACLS Certification
- Minimum 2 years of cardiac RNFA experience
- Telemetry competency
- Ability to work in a hospital OR setting as part of a travel assignment
