Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate Med-Surg nursing care for adult and geriatric patients
- Perform assessments, monitor vital signs, and respond to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and IV therapy, including blood products; manage heparin/insulin as ordered
- Perform IV starts/maintenance and care for peripheral, PICC, and central lines; wound care including wound VAC; ostomy and feeding tube care as applicable
- Participate in phlebotomy, EKGs, and routine charting; ensure accurate documentation in the charting system
- Maintain infection control and PPE usage; support patient and family education; assist with discharge planning

Requirements
- NY State RN license (must be held at time of submission)
- BLS certificate required
- Minimum 2 years of acute hospital RN experience
- Travel experience: prior travel experience is required per posting
- Preferred: ACLS certification
- Relias EKG exam: complete with 100% score within 72 hours after signing; onsite EKG exam requires 85% with correct identification of critical rhythms; remediation/retest protocols may apply
- References required; recent Nursys verification; SSN/DOB; must pass background checks as part of compliance
- Floating: must be willing to float within hospital as needed (per skill set)
- Local hire restriction: permanent address within 50 miles of the assignment location is not accepted
- Unit-specific skills: med-surg care, IV starts/maintenance, wound care, phlebotomy, isolation/PPE, and general med-surg clinical competencies
