Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the ER for patients of all ages, consistent with unit guidelines and the medical plan of care.
- Use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care; collaborate with physicians and the health care team.
- Participate in triage, treatment, and discharge planning; include patient and family teaching as part of the plan of care.
- Delegate appropriate aspects of patient care to other licensed and unlicensed staff based on clinical competence and scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate, timely nursing documentation and coordinate care across the care team.
- This department provides triage, treatment and support for trauma and emergency patients in an acute care setting; this position is represented by CNA.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (3x12) in a fast-paced ER environment
- Prior ER or acute care nursing experience preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; demonstrated clinical judgment and patient advocacy
