Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for PreOp patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines.
- Assess patient status, perform preoperative assessments, monitor vitals, and prepare patients for procedures.
- Administer medications and document per hospital policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with anesthesia, surgical teams, and postoperative staff to ensure safe, efficient patient flow.
- Apply critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making to support patient safety in an outpatient setting.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- Experience in preoperative or outpatient perioperative care; supervisory or coordinating responsibilities preferred
- Ability to work 8-hour shifts totaling 40 hours per week; schedule may be varied
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a hospital outpatient setting as a travel RN in Saint Helena, CA
