Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to adult medical-surgical patients, including assessments, monitoring, IV therapy, and medication administration
- Collaborate with the care team to coordinate admissions, discharges, and transitions of care
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record and ensure timely communication with physicians, case managers, and ancillary staff
- Monitor for patient safety, respond to changes in patient condition, and participate in rapid turnover on an admission-focused unit
- Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Uphold clinical standards, infection control practices, and safety protocols in a busy, high-acuity environment
Requirements
- Active Georgia RN license (or eligibility for licensure by endorsement)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg RN experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current RN credential
- Ability to work night shift (12-hour shifts) and meet holiday coverage requirements
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced admission-focused unit
