Responsibilities
- Perform basic and critical respiratory care services for adult and geriatric patients, as ordered by the physician and in accordance with department policies.
- Deliver respiratory therapies for patients with respiratory disease, adjusting care as directed and documented in the patient record.
- Work effectively with limited supervision and, when delegated, provide supervision to other staff or team members.
- Complete paperwork, electronic medical records, flow sheets, and charge entries for each patient encounter.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective respiratory care within the home hospice setting.
- Adhere to infection control and safety standards, and maintain accurate documentation consistent with hospice policies.
Requirements
- Active California licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (Registered Respiratory Therapist or eligible) and ability to practice in the state.
- Relevant certification as a respiratory therapist (e.g., RRT or CRT) as applicable.
- Experience providing respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients in accordance with department or program policies.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records, documentation, and patient flow sheets; ability to process charges accurately.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to supervise others as delegated.
- Willingness and ability to work in a home healthcare - hospice setting and travel to patient locations as required.
