Registered Nurse – Med Surg (Travel) in Utica, New York. This travel temporary assignment begins 06/22/2026 and runs for 13 weeks on a 36-hour weekly schedule with a 2x3-day shift pattern in a hospital-based Med/Surg unit. Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to adult Med/Surg patients, including post-surgical care such as abdominal pain, cholelithiasis, osteoarthritis, fracture, back pain, and obesity-related considerations.
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, operate IV pumps, and manage NG/feeding tubes as required.
- Document care in the EPIC electronic medical record and communicate with the interdisciplinary team to support safe, quality patient outcomes.
- Float to related units as needed and adhere to unit policies, safety standards, and patient care protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and support staff to support timely discharges and appropriate patient education.
Requirements
- Nursing license: Active Registered Nurse license in New York with Nursys verification (ACTIVE NY License and all active RN licenses).
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of med/surg experience; travel experience required with an up-to-date resume reflecting MS experience and travel assignments.
- Certifications: Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- EMR: EPIC experience preferred.
- Additional: Able to work in a Med/Surg setting, with the ability to float to other units as needed. RTO (request for time off) must be included at time of submission.
