Travel Registered Nurse Corrections Job
Position: Registered Nurse, Corrections (Travel) — Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Start date: May 4, 2026. Assignment length: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $1,763 to $1,920 per week. Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to inmates within a correctional setting, including triage, assessment, and ongoing monitoring.
- Administer prescribed medications, document administration and any adverse reactions, and follow care plans and protocols.
- Respond to medical emergencies, stabilize patients, and coordinate with on-site health staff and security personnel as appropriate.
- Perform basic wound care, Vital signs checks, and routine treatments while maintaining accurate, timely documentation in the medical record.
- Maintain infection control practices, ensure safe equipment use, and comply with facility security procedures.
- Adhere to device policies (for example, smart watches and personal cell phones are not permitted inside secure areas) and use the designated work station for family communications when applicable.
- Maintain professional communication with correctional staff to support safe, effective care and patient flow; may float to other care areas as needed to cover routine or urgent needs.
- Demonstrate flexibility to cover part-time evening shifts and to work every other weekend as required.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Pennsylvania (unrestricted), with eligibility to practice in the state.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Ability to work in a correctional setting and comply with security policies and procedures.
- Flexibility to work evening shifts and to cover every other weekend; willingness to float to other areas as needed.
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills suitable for a multidisciplinary environment.
