Travel Occupational Therapist Acute Care Job
Occupational Therapist – Acute Care is needed in Cumming, GA for a travel assignment starting 08/03/2026. This 13-week contract provides 40 guaranteed hours per week with a weekly pay range of $2,224-$2,324. Shifts are 8-hour days on a 8x5 schedule, typically 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with four weekend shifts every four weeks and one summer holiday. The role supports acute care patients across a broad range of medical and surgical diagnoses in a Cerner-based documentation environment. Note: no local candidates within 50 miles of the assignment location.

Responsibilities
- Perform OT evaluations and develop treatment plans for acute care patients, including ICU, stroke/neurological, orthopedics, and general debility
- Deliver skilled therapies to improve ADLs, mobility, cognition, and functional independence; support discharge planning
- Document patient progress, treatment administration, and outcomes in Cerner per physician orders and department standards
- Collaborate with nursing, physicians, PT, and other disciplines to coordinate patient-centered care
- Monitor safety, functional status, and equipment needs; contribute to early rehabilitation and transitions of care
- Participate in rounds and contribute to interdisciplinary care planning for a diverse patient population
Requirements
- Active Georgia OT license
- AHA BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care OT experience
- Experience with Cerner EMR in an acute care setting
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment with diverse diagnoses
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
