Responsibilities
- Deliver physical therapy assistant services under PT supervision in a long-term care LTAC setting
- Implement and monitor components of the prescribed plan of care, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers, ROM, and functional mobility
- Document patient progress, outcomes, and any changes in status in the medical record
- Assist with patient positioning, safety, pain management support, and activity tolerance during therapy
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (nursing, PT, OT, speech therapy) to support comprehensive patient care
- Participate in discharge planning and communication with family or caregivers as appropriate
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program ( Associate degree)
- Current licensure or eligibility to practice as a PTA in New Jersey (licensure verification will be required)
- CPR/BLS certification recommended
- Ability to work effectively in a long-term care LTAC setting
- Strong documentation, communication, and teamwork skills
- Experience or comfort with geriatric populations and therapy-related safety protocols
