Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting, including medication administration and monitoring of clinical status
- Perform initial assessments and ongoing re-assessments; document changes and respond to acute needs promptly
- Collaborate with physicians, supervisors, and the interprofessional team to develop and update individualized care plans
- Monitor vital signs, respond to changes in condition, and coordinate with the care team to adjust treatments as needed
- Supervise and delegate tasks to licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants in accordance with policy and scope of practice
- Maintain accuracy in documentation, ensure safety and infection control protocols, and promote residents’ dignity and quality of life
Requirements
- Active registered nurse license (state to be confirmed) and eligibility to practice for the assignment
- BLS certification (American Heart Association or equivalent)
- Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a 5x8 schedule
- Prior nursing experience in a long-term care or geriatric setting preferred
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
- Capacity to complete orientation and comply with facility policies and regulatory requirements
