Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery (L&D) – Travel assignment in Helena, MT. Start date 10/11/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range $2,472–$2,626 with guaranteed hours of 36 per week. Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for labor and delivery patients, including admission assessment, continuous fetal monitoring, pain management, and preparation for and performance of deliveries.
- Assist with labor, delivery, and postoperative OB care; function as OR circulator when required; maintain sterile technique and support cesarean deliveries as needed.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, interpret fetal heart rate patterns, respond to non-reassuring tracings, administer prescribed medications, and coordinate with the obstetric team.
- Document accurately in the EMR (Epic); ensure charting is complete and aligned with patient care plans and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, nurses, and support staff; participate in patient education, discharge planning, and family teaching.
- Floats possible to medical-surgical units, ICU, or ER to support overflow or stable adult patients as directed by leadership.
Requirements
- Active Montana RN license or valid Multistate (compact) license
- 2 years of Labor & Delivery or OB nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE, and AWHONN fetal monitoring certifications; all must be active and on file
- OB experience with OR circulator responsibilities; Epic EMR experience
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts in a hospital setting; ability to float to MS, ICU, or ER as needed
- Willing to comply with travel radius requirements (70-mile radius) and submit complete demographic information with the application; all certifications and license must be on file at submission
