Responsibilities
- Deliver direct perioperative nursing care in the operating room and related perioperative areas, adapting to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients with varied medical conditions.
- Assess patient and family needs, develop an individualized plan of care with the interdisciplinary team, and evaluate patient progress across the perioperative continuum.
- Administer medications, monitor anesthesia-related status, and maintain patient safety and comfort through sterile technique and evidence-based practices.
- Educate patients and families to support understanding of procedures, anesthesia recovery, and post-discharge self-care, including lifestyle factors that promote healing.
- Promote infection prevention, advocate for patient rights, and contribute to a healing environment while documenting care and education provided.
- Collaborate with colleagues across units as needed; participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development to advance nursing practice.

Requirements
- Active New York State RN licensure (NYS RN Licensure)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association or equivalent required)
- NIHSS certification or demonstrated competency as part of required qualifications
- Ability to work in the OR and related perioperative settings; willingness to float to additional perioperative services as needed
- Commitment to patient- and family-centered care, infection prevention, and safety standards
