Responsibilities
- Provide direct, competent nursing care for adult patients in the IMCU/PCU, including those with neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory diagnoses.
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, perform frequent assessments, and participate in care planning and multidisciplinary communication.
- Manage patients requiring advanced monitoring, ventilatory support, chest tubes, arterial lines, temporary pacers, and other specialty equipment with appropriate team support.
- Utilize EPIC EMR for timely documentation, orders entry, and care coordination; document changes in patient condition and response to treatment.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and ancillary services; coordinate transfers and involve family/caregivers in education and discharge planning.
- Float to related units as needed and maintain unit-specific competencies for 18+ adult patients.
Requirements
- Active New York registered nurse license; NYRN license verification via Nursys; RTO (return-to-office) must be included at submission.
- Certifications: current AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
- Experience: 2+ years of IMCU/PCU experience; documented travel nurse experience preferred.
- EMR: EPIC experience required.
- Education: general RN education with eligibility to practice in the state; ability to work in an IMCU/PCU setting with adult patients.
- Other: valid driver’s license with address that matches demographics.
