Travel Registered Nurse Acute Care Job

Penn Yan, NY
Contracted
The Homestead at Soldiers & Sailors
Mid Level
Step into a high-impact travel nursing role as a Registered Nurse in Acute Care, where every shift pulses with the urgency and compassion that define modern hospital care. In this role you’ll blend clinical excellence with adaptive teamwork, guiding acutely ill patients through complex treatment plans, rapid assessments, and coordinated recovery. You’ll be at the forefront of patient safety, infection control, and evidence-based practice, supported by a network that values your expertise and your wellbeing. Beyond the bedside, imagine exploring New York’s diverse landscapes—rolling vineyards and lake views in the Finger Lakes region, the charm of Penn Yan’s waterfront streets, the heritage of small-town Main Streets, and the energy of nearby cities—enriching your experience as you grow in both skill and perspective.

Location Benefits: Penn Yan, NY, offers the inviting rhythm of a friendly village paired with access to extraordinary outdoor beauty and cultural experiences. You’ll enjoy a straightforward commute, vibrant local eateries, and a community that prides itself on hospitality and connection. Seasonal activities—from lakefront recreation to wine trails and scenic drives—provide moments of overnight escapes or weekend adventures. The assignment also opens pathways to work across New York and, through our national travel network, other locations across the U.S. This flexibility allows you to engage with diverse patient populations, hospital environments, and care models, expanding your clinical repertoire while building a professional network that spans multiple states. Whether you prefer the serenity of waterfront walks or the energy of nearby urban centers, you’ll find opportunities to balance demanding clinical work with rewarding personal exploration in locations that celebrate your contributions.

Role Specifics and Benefits: As the acute care RN on this assignment, you’ll perform comprehensive nursing assessments, monitor complex vitals, administer medications with precision, initiate and adjust care plans in collaboration with physicians, and lead evidence-based interventions that improve outcomes. You’ll coordinate multidisciplinary rounds, participate in rapid response activation when needed, and guide discharge planning to ensure safe, timely transitions home. You’ll mentor less experienced staff, share best practices, and continuously refine your critical thinking in high-stakes environments. There are robust opportunities for professional growth within the acute care specialty—advanced post-anesthesia care skills, progressive patient stabilization protocols, obstetric and neonatal considerations where appropriate, and cross-training possibilities that broaden your competency in high-acuity settings. The compensation package features a competitive weekly pay range of $2,020 to $2,106, with potential bonuses, housing assistance, and contract extension opportunities that align with your career goals. In addition, you’ll enjoy comprehensive support including 24/7 assistance while traveling with the company, dedicated housing and credentialing help, and a streamlined onboarding process designed to minimize downtime between assignments. Our travel program is structured to provide stable scheduling, clear expectations, and a responsive support team that remains accessible around the clock to address any clinical or logistical needs. Note: hours and pay rates are estimates and may vary; final compensation packages and guaranteed hours will be confirmed during the hiring process.

We’re committed to ongoing education, leadership pathways, and a culture of collaboration and accountability that invites every nurse to contribute ideas, lead improvements, and expand their scope of practice.
