Responsibilities
- Provide direct RN-level care to adults 18+, in a Med/Surg setting
- Perform ongoing assessments, monitor vital signs, respond to changes in patient status, and document in the medical record
- Administer medications and treatments per policy; manage IVs; provide wound care including wound VAC; monitor and manage chest tubes
- Utilize Meditech EMR for charting and Pyxis for medication dispensing; ensure accurate medication administration and inventory
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for care planning, discharge planning, and patient education; uphold patient safety and infection control standards
- May float to surg/pediatrics or transitional care units as needed; maintain a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio on the unit
Requirements
- Hawaii RN license active by start of assignment (or eligibility to obtain prior to start). Any traveler not currently in possession of an active Hawaii license must apply upon acceptance; candidate must have Hawaii license by start of assignment
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2+ years of Med/Surg or higher level of care experience
- Education: current RN licensure in Hawaii
- Must arrive the Thursday before start to complete employee health clearance and onboarding
- Ability to work rotating shifts with variable shift lengths and days; no holiday RTO requests
- Unit experience includes Medical – 50 beds; nurse-to-patient ratio 1:5
