Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines.
- Apply critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making to plans of care.
- Document patient status, responses to treatment, and updates to the care plan; communicate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Participate in patient handoffs, rounds, and collaboration with physicians, therapists, and support staff.
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and adheres to all hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Active RN license in California (current and in good standing)
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- 2+ years of ER or high-acuity acute care experience preferred
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced hospital setting
