Responsibilities
- Plan and provide nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, including emergency situations and circulating for C-sections.
- Supervise and delegate nursing tasks to ancillary staff in line with scope of practice.
- Assess fetal and maternal status, monitor amniotic fluid, vaginal bleeding, and respond to perinatal emergencies (e.g., crash C-section, precipitous delivery, shoulder dystocia).
- Manage pain control during labor and support alternative methods when appropriate; assist with epidural catheter placement and monitor status during and after administration.
- Educate patients and families across all perinatal stages, tailoring teaching to age, condition, culture, and learning readiness.
- Complete thorough, legible documentation of care provided and patient response; collaborate with multidisciplinary team to implement and adjust care plans.

Requirements
- Valid RN license in the state of practice (California)
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
- Experience: Minimum two years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
- Additional: EPIC electronic health record experience required
- Shift readiness: Ability to work the night shift schedule (3x12 hours) as assigned
