Travel Registered Nurse First Assist Job
Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) – Robotic surgery travel assignment in Rochester, New York. Start date 05/18/2026 for 13 weeks. 12-hour day shifts. Weekly pay $2,628–$2,804. Setting: hospital operating room. This RNFA role requires CNOR certification and completion of an RNFA program, with DaVinci robotic surgery experience. Requires NY license and two years of OR experience; BLS is required, ACLS preferred. On-call responsibilities per unit need (until 11:00 pm); no weekends or holidays unless dictated by unit needs.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the RN First Assistant during operative procedures under the direction of the surgeon
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal intraoperative outcomes
- Scrub and circulate as needed; perform RN staff RN duties when not functioning in the RNFA role
- Apply perioperative nursing principles and maintain CNOR-level standards in the OR
- Support robotic-assisted surgeries using the DaVinci system; ensure sterile technique and patient advocacy
- Complete accurate intraoperative documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory and hospital policies
Requirements
- Active New York Registered Nurse license
- CNOR certification
- Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant program (RNFA)
- DaVinci robotic surgery experience required (robotic specialties such as urology, gynecology, colorectal, surgical oncology, thoracic, general surgery)
- Two years of OR experience; level 1 trauma OR experience preferred
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Ability to scrub and circulate and work effectively within a high-acuity perioperative setting
