Travel Surgical Tech Job
Surgical Technologist | Travel assignment | Decorah, Iowa | Start 06/22/2026 | 13 weeks minimum | $1,726–$1,866 per week | 36 guaranteed hours | 5x8 days shift
This travel opportunity places a qualified Surgical Technologist in a hospital setting, assisting the surgical team across multiple specialties on a full-time contract.

- Shift: 5x8 days; typical 7:00 am–3:30 pm, may start as early as 6:00 am

- Location: Decorah, Iowa
- On-call rotation: approximately 1 night every 2 week pay period, every 5th–6th weekend, plus holiday call rotation
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room and sterile setup for a range of procedures in General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, OBGYN, Podiatry, Urology, and Dental care
- Pass instruments, maintain the sterile field, count and track sponges and instruments, and anticipate the needs of the surgeon and team
- Assist with instrument handling, specimen labeling, suction, retraction, and maintaining patient safety during cases
- Monitor and document aseptic technique, tourniquets, counts, and equipment readiness; communicate any discrepancies to the team
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and circulating staff to support efficient case flow; participate in on-call coverage as required
Requirements
- Education: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
- Certification: Surgical Technologist Certification preferred
- Training: Iowa Mandatory Reporter training
- Credentials: State of Iowa Mandatory reporter training completed; BLS (American Heart Association) required
- Experience: Experience in General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, OBGYN, Podiatry, Urology, and Dental procedures preferred
- On-call readiness: Must stay within 30 minutes of the on-call location when scheduled
