Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care for ED patients using the nursing process, with attention to safety and quality outcomes.
- Collect relevant data, assess patient status, monitor vitals, and develop and implement a care plan; coordinate care with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor for adverse effects and respond to emergencies as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, and other disciplines to coordinate care and discharge planning; provide patient and family education.
- Supervise and direct activities of assigned nursing staff and delegate tasks to ensure safe, efficient care delivery.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EPIC) and ensure compliance with clinical standards and policies.
Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice (Oregon) – Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor – Required
- ACLS and PALS certifications (AHA/ARC) – Required
- Epic (EPIC) EMR experience – Required
- Minimum two years of recent ER/acute care nursing experience – Required
- BSN – Preferred
- Ability to work the night shift in a fast-paced ED environment
