Responsibilities
- Provide unit-based leadership on the assigned shift, collaborating with the Nurse Manager/Director, physicians, and staff.
- Supervise and direct nursing and ancillary personnel; delegate tasks, monitor performance, and ensure appropriate coverage.
- Develop and revise patient care plans with the health team; participate in direct patient care as needed to ensure timely, evidence-based care.
- Conduct rounds to assess patient care needs, address patient and family concerns, and promote patient- and family-centered care.
- Coordinate care across the continuum and ensure accurate documentation in the EPIC system; support safety and quality initiatives.
- Support trauma-center operations and quality improvement activities; understand there is no on-call requirement for this assignment.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse licensure in California (state of practice) or current multi-state license as applicable; California license required.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA or approved vendor per policy).
- Minimum two years of recent RN experience; two-plus years of charge/lead supervisory experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; Master’s Degree preferred.
- EPIC (or comparable EMR) experience required.
- Ability to work in an acute care, trauma center environment; available for day shift; able to meet the assignment’s 36-hour weekly schedule.
