Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients using nursing processes.
- Monitor patients, including remote telemetry, interpret results, and respond to changes in status.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; manage IVs and non-invasive airway support.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, Respiratory, Pharmacy, Social Services, RT, Radiology, Rapid Response) to coordinate care and discharge planning.
- Uphold infection control and isolation precautions; adhere to PPE protocols.
- Document patient observations, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record (EPIC); contribute to care planning and escalation as needed.
Requirements
- Licensure: New York RN license required at time of submission
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute hospital nursing experience
- Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Education: RN with appropriate nursing education from an accredited program
- Experience with charting in EPIC; ability to work in a Med Surg setting with telemetry
- Special examinations: Relias EKG exam due within 72 hours after signing; pass with 100% to prepare for onsite exam (onsite require 85% and identification of critical rhythms)
- Orientation and onboarding: HealthStream modules (except listed exceptions) must be completed by 7 a.m. on the Wednesday prior to start
- Vaccines: Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 not required; exemptions considered with appropriate documentation
- Travel requirements: Prior travel experience to be confirmed with account manager
- Floating: Within scope of practice; possible unit-to-unit floating per leadership discretion
- Submission documents: NY license, recent Nursys verification, SSN/DOB, certifications

- Local radius restrictions apply: candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of Saratoga Springs are not accepted
- Excluded counties for new contracts include Warren, Washington, Fulton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Albany, Columbia, Greene, Dutchess, and Ulster
