Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside nursing care to medical-surgical patients, including routine assessments and ongoing monitoring of vital signs and clinical status.
- Administer prescribed medications and therapies, monitor for adverse reactions, and document effectiveness and safety.
- Perform basic procedures within scope of practice and escalate concerns to the medical team as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record, including care plans, progress notes, and patient education.
- Collaborate with physicians, bedside teammates, and ancillary staff to coordinate and optimize patient care; participate in rounds and discharge planning as appropriate.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care, promoting safe transitions and adherence to care plans.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Med/Surg nursing experience preferred; strong clinical judgment and patient-care skills.
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and fulfill a 36-hour weekly schedule.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills; comfort in a fast-paced hospital setting.
- Willingness to work a travel assignment in Cozad, Nebraska, for the duration of the posting and to comply with assignment start date.
