Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adults in IMCU/PCU, including sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, CKD, substance use disorders, and encephalopathy.
- Administer and monitor therapies, including heparin drips, IV infusions, and other ordered medications; assess responses and adjust care as needed.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, monitor vital signs, interpret trends, and document findings in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapy, case management, and other disciplines to develop and adjust individualized care plans.
- Prioritize patient safety, infection control, and comfort; respond to clinical changes and escalation, and participate in de-escalation and transfer processes as appropriate.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of high-acuity inpatient experience (PCU/IMCU or similar) required.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Ability to work night shift with 12-hour shifts (4 days per week).
- Active RN license in Georgia.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
