Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the operating room, including assisting the surgical team and maintaining a sterile field
- Prepare the OR, ensure instrument and equipment readiness, and manage intraoperative counts
- Monitor patient status before, during, and after anesthesia; respond to intraoperative changes
- File and document intraoperative events and postoperative handoffs according to policy
- Collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons, and circulating staff to maintain patient safety and efficiency
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols, and operate within standard OR procedures
Requirements
- Active RN license appropriate for operating room practice
- OR nursing experience with emphasis on trauma, neuro, and vascular procedures
- Level 1 trauma experience preferred; high rating on skills checklist
- Previous travel assignment experience preferred; willingness to work call, weekends, and holidays
- Proficiency with Outlook, Workday, and Shift Wizard; ability to use electronic devices to access these apps
- No block scheduling requirements noted in the assignment details; flexibility for on-call and holiday coverage
